Oval Carnelian Intaglio Ring with Dancing Classical Figure in 10k Yellow Gold

A broad oval of carnelian — deep burnt orange, translucent enough to glow when light passes behind it — sits bezel-set flush in a plain polished 10k gold rim with nothing else on the ring competing for attention. Carved into the face in intaglio, cut down into the stone rather than raised out of it, is a dancing figure in profile: one arm thrown back over the head, drapery streaming behind, a small vessel in the lowered hand.
