Men's 10k Yellow Gold Ring with Polished Nugget Forms on a Beaded Ground and Grooved Sides

Small nugget forms crowd the face, polished bright and packed close enough that they lock into each other rather than sitting apart. The recessed ground showing between them is not left plain: it is covered in fine round granules, a beaded texture worked right into the low areas. Each shoulder then carries two or three deep parallel grooves running back toward the shank. The top edge is broken rather than clean, because the forms run past where the outline would otherwise be.

The beading in the recesses is the detail worth paying attention to, because it is the part nobody had to do. A recessed ground reads as shadow whether you finish it or not, so leaving it smooth would have cost nothing and looked fine from two feet away.
