A yellow gold eagle comes in with its wings up and its talons forward, worked in relief across the face of this ring and set against a recessed white field. That field is not left plain: it is textured all over and scattered with small yellow gold beads, with small diamonds set in among them at close to the same size, so the background reads as a spray of bright points behind the bird. The clever part is that the eagle is the only smooth thing on the ring.
