Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire Floral Cluster Ring in 14k Yellow Gold

A cluster set on point, built in three colours of stone: a flower of seven round emeralds at the centre; four arms of round sapphires, two to an arm, running from the flower out to the corners with a polished gold rib along each; and round rubies filling the four sides between the arms. Every stone is prong set. The shank is plain. 5.10 grams of 14k yellow gold.

Most multi-colour clusters are a scatter. This one has a plan — green at the heart, blue on the arms, red on the sides — so the head reads as a composition from any angle instead of a handful of stones, and it reads at a distance: the three colours separate cleanly against the gold. Turned on point, it takes up the width of the finger without the weight of a wide band. Three stones’ worth of colour on one hand — isn’t that the point of a cocktail ring?
